[Updated 2023]: 6 SEO Techniques to Double Your Digital Presence
In this updated article, we will revisit the previously mentioned four SEO techniques from 2019 and introduce two additional SEO tactics to further enhance your digital presence in 2023.
The evolving landscape of SEO requires adapting strategies to align with the latest trends and algorithmic updates. Let’s explore the six techniques that can help you maximize your SEO 2023 efforts and drive significant results.
#1 SEO Technique: Focus on User Experience (UX):
The importance of user experience remains a top priority in 2023. However, the definition of a good user experience has expanded.
It now includes factors such as website speed, mobile-friendliness, accessibility, and visual appeal.
Enhancing site navigation, improving page loading times, and optimizing for core web vitals are crucial for satisfying user expectations and ranking higher in search engine results pages (SERPs).
Value of Change: As search engines increasingly prioritize user-centric factors, investing in user experience improvements can lead to higher organic rankings, increased engagement, and improved conversion rates.
#2 SEO Technique: Keyword Research:
Keyword research continues to be a fundamental aspect of SEO 2023.
However, it has evolved to consider user intent and semantic search.
In 2023, focus on long-tail keywords, voice search optimization, and understanding search query context.
Utilize tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, or Moz Keyword Explorer to identify relevant keywords and incorporate them naturally within your content.
Value of Change: By aligning keyword research with user intent, you can attract highly targeted traffic and improve the relevance of your content, resulting in better rankings and increased visibility.
#3 SEO Technique: Mobile First:
With the increasing prevalence of mobile devices, optimizing for mobile users is critical.
Mobile-first indexing, introduced by Google, means search engines primarily evaluate the mobile version of websites for ranking and indexing purposes.
Ensure your website is mobile-responsive, offers a seamless browsing experience, and loads quickly on various devices and screen sizes.
Value of Change: Mobile optimization is essential for better rankings, as well as reaching and engaging a wider audience. Ignoring mobile optimization can lead to lower visibility and decreased organic traffic.
#4 SEO Technique: Claim Your Business:
Claiming and optimising your Google My Business (GMB) profile remains crucial in 2023.
GMB provides valuable information to potential customers, improves local search visibility, and increases trust.
Regularly update your GMB profile with accurate business information, high-quality images, and customer reviews, and respond promptly to inquiries.
Value of Change: In an increasingly competitive local SEO 2023 landscape, an optimized GMB profile can significantly improve your local search rankings, drive more website traffic, and generate valuable leads.

#5 SEO Technique: Content Optimisation:
Content optimisation continues to be a powerful SEO technique in 2023.
However, the focus has shifted towards comprehensive, in-depth content that provides unique value to users.
Create long-form, authoritative content that answers users’ queries, incorporates relevant keywords, and utilises structured data markup to enhance search visibility and attract organic backlinks.
Value of Change: High-quality, optimized content improves your website’s authority, attracts more organic traffic, and positions you as an industry expert, increasing the likelihood of earning valuable backlinks.
#6 SEO Technique: Voice Search Optimisation:
Voice search has gained significant popularity with the rise of virtual assistants like Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant.
Optimise your content for voice search queries by targeting conversational keywords, answering frequently asked questions, and providing concise, direct answers.
Additionally, ensure your website loads quickly and is mobile-friendly, as voice searches often occur on mobile devices.
Value of Change: Optimising for voice search allows you to tap into the growing voice search user base, improve user engagement, and capture valuable featured snippets, increasing your organic visibility.
4 SEO Techniques to Double Your Digital Presence
Original Article Published: 25 February 2019
The following are just a few easily implemented SEO Techniques that will improve your overall website optimisation.
#1 SEO Technique: Focus on User Experience (UX)
Knowing and understanding your client is fundamental in any Marketing Campaign.
A sound practice is to have your website’s visitors’ perspective in clear focus so as to make their experience on your site engaging.
The whole purpose of most sites is to engage with visitors, improve customer satisfaction and acquire customer loyalty with the site’s content, ease of use, and navigation and ultimately convert those visitors into clients.
Keeping in mind, that you do know your audience (clients) then address their needs and expectations when they come upon your website, for example;
- Would they be more likely to want to talk to someone over sending an email?
– Which many of us have reservations about doing as they seem to get lost in a void with never a response - Are you providing a Service that requires you to attend to the client’s premises (Residential/Commercial) then why not ADD an Appointment Scheduler
– Clearly define the Days and Times that you are available to meet with them - If you are only promoting a Mobile Number, spell out that you are available on this number from, say, 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Saturday
- Have a ‘Pop Up’ saying ‘Available to Speak with you right now, call XXXXXXXXX”
- An option to Download or email more info
Again, keep in mind as to what your clients would expect as many business owners design their website as if it is a glossy brochure with little to no direction as to what they (business owners) want the customer to do next
#2 SEO Technique: Keyword Research
Without a doubt, Keyword Research is still fundamental in not only attaining Rankings in Google but to clearly defining your Online Market.
#3 SEO Technique: Mobile First
Mobile searches have been increasing over the years with some industry sectors having nearly 50% from mobile devices.
Add to the fact that Google has clearly given notice that;
“pages where content is not easily accessible to a user on the transition from the mobile search results may not rank as highly” Google Webmaster Central Blog
If your site is not fully mobile optomised and thus not mobile-friendly, then you can expect to experience a decline in your rankings.
Case in Point: As at the time of composing this article (June 2017) www.HavocDigital.co own website after a recent hack attack is NOT mobile friendly at all.
For security reasons and as a result we are upgrading the site this functionality has been restricted.
- Consequently, we saw a significant drop in our rankings in the SERP’s.
By accessing your Google Search Console and reviewing the Mobile Usability Report, Google will highlight any issues that need your attention.
*NB Another area that Google has been emphasizing is ‘Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), this will enable ‘instant’ loading and will be of huge user benefit on mobile devices.
As part of our On-Page SEO Recommendations reports to clients, we will be providing specific advice as to the action necessary – on a case-by-case basis.
#4 SEO Technique: Claim Your Business
Failing to ‘claim’ your business registration within Google’s ‘My Business’ profile will certainly inhibit your digital presence!
A USA study revealed;
“56% of Local Retailers have not claimed their Google ‘My Business’ listing.”
Why would you not?
Surely you have also registered your Business Telephone Number to Yellowpages!
Mobile search is becoming more prevalent with studies stating that just over 20% of all searches have LOCAL intent.
With smartphone users seeking out;
- 94% search for location information
- 51% visited a store
- 48% called a store
- 29% made a purchase
Make sure that your ‘My business’ profile is up-to-date and complete so that Google can put you in front of your potential customers within the Maps and Search results.
